Ten Authors I Really Want to Meet at BEA

Please note that I'm taking a hiatus on Top Ten Tuesdays and will begin using the meme, Waiting on Wednesday instead! This is my last one!

Authors are honestly the best people you'll ever meet. They're the ONLY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD WHO UNDERSTANDS US AND THE LOVE OF BOOKS AND WRITING AND FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. Since I'm heading over to BEA IN TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY, let's talk about which authors I'd like to meet there!

1. Richelle Mead, Soundless

AGH! Well, I love Richelle's writing and Vampire Academy simply was the best. I'm super excited for Soundless, and I really want to ask her some questions and get some inspiration!

2. Marissa Meyer, Fairest

The Lunar Chronicles is one of my most favourite sci-fi stories, and I'm so intrigued by the fact that Marissa also writes fanfiction! I've gotten all of my friends to read her work and they're also so obsessed—she seems the sweetest and I LOVE HER WORK.

3. Susane Colasanti, City Love

The best. Chick-lit author. In the world. AAAAAAGH. She's a celebrity, my friends, and I can bawl and go on and on with her work forever. SHE SEEMS HILARIOUS IN A WITTY WAY.

4. Jennifer L. Armentrout, Lux

I wanna talk about ALIENS AND DEMONS AND FICTIONAL STUFF AND DAEMON. I'll want to sit there for an hour with this amazing woman and chat and go out for tea and talk about Daemon some more, hah.

5. Patrick Ness, The Rest of Us Just Live Here

I wanna read everything by this amazing guy and tell him how much A Monster Calls means to me. I feel like tearing up now—maybe I have to reread it before going to get my feelings straight!

6. Meg Cabot, Royal Wedding

Meg's been a role model author for me since I was a kid, when I read everything that she's ever written—at least, almost everything. I want to indulge in this Princess Diaries awesomeness, and let her know that she's the best. Hehe.

7. Lauren Oliver, Curiosity House

Here's another author whose mastered everything she's ever written. Vanishing Girls just shocked me and left me wanting more, and I fell in love with Delirium, and I know that I can fall in love again. We'll talk about ALEX!

8. Scott Westerfeld, Zeroes

Love everything of his, TOO! Zeroes will be a favourite of 2015 for me, I can tell, and I want to go on and talk about the world of Uglies, and how this world can become that someday. ;)

9. Megan Shepard, The Cage

I still have yet to read the final book in The Madman's Daughter trilogy, and I'm so excited for THE CAGE. I'LL BE STUCK IN A CAGE OF HAPPINESS AND SQUEALING, PEOPLE.

10. Jennifer E. Smith, Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between

Fantastic ROMANCE AND HEART-PUMPING SQUEALING MOMENTS. WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY? WE'LL SQUEAL ABOUT THE CITY! :O

Even if you're not going to BEA, it's okay!

Ten Books I Will Never Read

I'm not going to be a rude person... but I have to admit that there are some books that I will never, ever read. I just look at them and feel like barfing. DON'T RANT AT ME, but here they are:

1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

I just can't. This series comes to my head when I think of this topic, and I have to tell you that I just cannot read this. Rowling is probably a fantastic writer, but I'm not into these kinds of books, and the concepts just seem dumb. I won't ever watch the movies, either.

2. Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar

Looks like trash, and I am just not into these kinds of books. I probably won't ever watch the TV show, either. Ew.

3. The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

This is another yucky one that everyone loves, but I won't ever put myself up to read. I just hate childish magical books. Whoops.

4. The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith

NEEEEVER. I adore the TV show (which I have to catch up with), but I will never read the books. I tried once, and I just couldn't. Vampire reads are so 2010, just saying. There's only a few good ones lurking around.

5. Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow

I once was thinking of adding this to my TBR, but I won't read it, angels are so overly used and there are only a few series that have stolen my heart. (COUGHcynthiahandCOUGH). I certainly won't go for this one.

6. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

Sorry, Lord of the Rings isn't my stuff, either. Ugh. 

7. The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

I might (just might) go for Percy Jackson one day, but never for this series. It seems so absurd and childish. I apologize to my dearest friends who are obsessed. You're weird.

8. Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld

I love Westerfeld's other books, but this series won't ever go for me. I'm not much of a steampunk person, and I don't want to waste my time and try this one out. I know it'll go horribly.

9. The Luxe by Anna Godbersen

So many books in the series, and a cheesy plot. Why should I go for this? No idea.

10. Avalon High by Meg Cabot

I love everything by Meg Cabot, but I don't like medieval-in-modern-day stuff. I'm not too fond of this one, to be honest. *shrugs*

This may seem like a very simple topic, but I feel like it means a lot, and these kind of situations usually happen to characters who deal with tragedies. Here are ten characters who've been lonely since the start!

1. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

Hey, what's a dystopian novel with a confused protagonist without her being a loner? *sad face* Until Shay, Tally was really broken and her world of prettiness made everything worse. 5/5

2. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

If you haven't read this series yet, then something is seriously wrong with you and your TBR list. *laughs* POOR ETHAN, MAN. THIS GUY HAS BEEN DREAMING OF SOME CREEPY GIRL FOR AGES AND HE'S ALL ALONE. ;_; 5/5

3. Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey

POOR JESS. This was like a retelling of Dracula, but much better, at least from what I believe. I remember reading this and adoring it for its sorrow that it gave me! 5/5

4. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

MY FAVOURITE WEREWOLF BOOOOOOOOOOOOK! If you haven't heard before, Maggie here gives us a fabulous and mysterious female protagonist named Grace. She's always watching the woods outside of her house and wishes to be one of them. Thankfully, the books' events give her an experience that she never expects. 5/5

5. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

What can I say? Both Theodore and Violet were two lost souls, but Jennifer Niven brought them together and I just was left without words. Both trying to commit suicide by jumping off a ledge, they saved each other to the fullest extent. 5/5

6. What My Mother Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones

Guy meets girl—girl gets saved from the horrible things of the world, and it's absolutely unique and amazing. I'd reread this any day, I tell you. 4/5

7. In a World Just Right by Jen Brooks

Awh, Jonathan! Since this guy/protagonist spends his time in his personal alternative universe, he doesn't get many chances to make friends, or mend the friendships that he had with others when he was a kid. Kylie made that difference *winks* 4.5/5

8. Little Peach by Peggy Kern

Oh my gosh, MICHELLE. This girl had a disaster life before she went to NYC, but now it's all worse as she begins a "career" as a prostitute. *cries* She almost had NO support, people! 4/5

9. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne

BRUNOOOOOOOOOOO! Agh. I'm actually watching the boy right now (as I'm writing this) and the memories of his story are stuck with me. I can't forget about his sad face and the feels he gave us when he was alone in a huge barbaric war completed by the war. 3/5

10. All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

Marie-Laure... Well I really cannot go on about her because her story shattered my heart into a jillion pieces, especially in the end when we found the answers. What a legacy she created, hm?

Her books have been there since the start, and are absolute remedies. I enjoyed each and every one o her books!

2. Miranda Kenneally

UMMM, The Hundred Oaks is the best chick-lit series, ever? I will never get tired of them.

3. Kody Keplinger

I've read the first and last of her books here, and I LOVED THEM. Agh I need to pick up more. 

4. John Green

I don't think that I even have to talk about these. ;)

5. David Levithan

HE'S THE BEST. AGH. Every book is a new adventure and I always can't stop thinking about them.

6. Stephanie Perkins

I don't think that I have to explain this, either. STEPH PERKINS' BOOKS SAVED MY LIFE, I TELL YOU.

7. E. Lockhart

I can't ever forget about the hilarious Ruby Oliver series. No one needs a therapist! :'D

Nikki and her novels are so inspirational and unique—much definitely unique than anything else I've ever read. Take a stroll with her novels if you enjoy: romance, boybands, surfing, and gorgeous writing!

10. Melissa Kantor

I always feel the need to bawl and cry my heart out with Melissa's novels. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM IS MEGA-AWESOME.
