C is for... Catching Jordan

Thursday 3 April 2014

These type of chick-lit books usually don’t really catch my attention. Catching Jordan was one of those books I’d pass by every single time when I’d go into my local bookstore, but would never pick up. I knew what it was about, I’d read the summary several times, but it really didn’t catch my attention.

Thanks to my mom, (THANK YOU) I eventually decided to purchase this book, because there was something about it that sounded intriguing. And the truth is, it really was.

So here we have Jordan Woods, girl high school quarterback of her football team. Did I clearly mention that Jordan is a GIRL? Ah, there we go. Jordan is a tomboy, and she basically sees herself as one of the guys, and that’s a good thing. When Ty Green moves to her school, Jordan is absolutely attracted to him, and he’s also an amazing quarterback. So Jordan’s basically having a problem with keeping her head in the game and what her heart really desires.

Miranda Kenneally, the splendid author, writes her words with thought. She is a powerful author, who’s books are so captivating that readers are absolutely glued to them. After reading the first chapter, I was hooked in.

I’d never expect the romance and plot to be so strong. This, unlike many other cheesy contemporary romances, is different. It has it’s own sense of quirk and style that makes readers want more, and happily and surprisingly, Miranda has written (for now) five more books in the Hundred Oaks series. Hundred Oaks is the name of the school that Jordan and the rest of the characters from Miranda’s books attend.

This is totally an adorable love triangle. In the beginning, I loved Ty, but my heart grew out to love Sam. Ugh, if I was Jordan, I’d go mad for these hot guys! :0

This book was amazing and if you’re looking for something new, light and fresh, GO and purchase Catching Jordan as soon as you can. It’s a powerful racing cute novel for all ages.

  4. I recommend this book a lot because of its appeal beyond typical contemporary romance. Jordan feels very real and I loved the tone of this book, and her role on the football team which was accepted by her teammates.

    1. Same here. I never read about a protagonist like her. She was so kick-ass and like you mentioned, real. Miranda Kenneally really created a perfect girl.
